Costs

SACC courses cost $100 to concurrent credit students in the El Dorado School District.  In addition, textbooks are provided for each course by the El Dorado School District.

Steps to Participate

The Early College Start concurrent credit process involves several SACC departments.  Begin the process as early as possible in order to meet the registration deadlines.  Some pre-enrollment activities may be offered on your high school campus.

NEW STUDENTS

Step 1:  Visit high school counselor for initial consultation and ECS form;  HS counselor indicates SACC course number for course(s) if student is exempt from further testing.  High school counselor may sign for student to take classes recommended by a SACC academic advisor.

Step 2:  Complete SouthArk’s application process.

Step 3:  Schedule COMPASS assessment test (if required) by calling SouthArk’s Learning Center at 870.864.7196.  Obtain Request for COMPASS Fee Waiver form from high school counselor;  allow sufficient processing time for scores before seeing a SouthArk academic advisor.

Step 4:  Complete academic advising with the Early College Start advisor or a SACC Admissions advisor.

Step 5:  Submit the SouthArk application, ECS form, official high school transcript, test scores, and immunization records to the SACC Admissions Office or the ECS office before registering.

SUBMITTING FORMS TO A SACC ADVISOR OR TO THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE DOES NOT REGISTER YOU FOR CLASSES.

Step 6:  Register for classes with the ECS advisor (Christy Wilson).

Step 7:  Pay for classes by payment deadline when fees are accessed.  Consult Course Schedule for payment information/deadlines.

After High School Graduation

Continuing your studies at SouthArk is easy!
You do not need to repeat the SouthArk enrollment process after you graduate.  You will, however, need to submit a new, official high school transcript after graduation.  This allows SouthArk to record your high school graduation and clears you to register for SouthArk classes as a regular college student.

Starting at a new college or university?
To send your official SouthArk transcript to another college or university, you must submit a written request, either in person, by mail, or by fax, to SouthArk’s Admissions Office.  Include your full name, social security number and/or student ID number, place transcript is to be sent, and your signature on the request.

Study at SouthArk and Save

Students routinely devote their first two years in college to completing the core curriculum before moving into studies in their selected major.  You can complete your entire core curriculum at SACC and then transfer the entire block to any public four-year college or university.
